The Walleye Festival was initially designed to promote Flushing’s natural asset, the Flint River and has grown to promote all Michigan waters. The festival brings in over 350 anglers and over 5,000 persons for its outdoor expo, fish dinner, and other entertainment and activities. In efforts to continue maximizing attendance and appeal, we hope to have our 10th anniversary, the best thus far.

Each year residents and visitors of the Grand Haven area have enjoyed the challenge of building art in the sand by participating in the Sand Sculpture Contest held annually on the last Saturday in June at the Grand Haven City Beach. Groups, families and individuals are judged and awarded prizes after the two-hour time limit to sculpt. Registration is from 9-9:45am and sculpting from 10am-noon with judging to follow.

This is celebrated the last weekend of September each year.
We open up the park and close M-32 (downtown) for Vendors, Crafters, Activities and Entertainment.
