| Petoskey’s 8th annual Festival on the Bay This three-day festival celebrates all that northern Michigan has to offer. The festival focuses on local and regional musical talent with a spectacular range of music to choose from. Performances begin at noon on Friday and Saturday in the Entertainment Tent at the baseball field and all festival concerts are free. The Children's Area offers activities for families including games and inflatable’s, crafts and more. The Children's Area will be open Friday afternoon from 1 to 5pm and Saturday from 10am to 6pm. Festival on the Bay offers many free activities including kayak demonstrations and free rides in the Jiimaan Canoe. Downtown shoppers will have a chance to win a treasure chest full of prizes from downtown businesses in the Treasures in Petoskey contest. Pennsylvania Park in downtown Petoskey will feature Concerts in the Park on Friday and the annual Arts & Crafts Fair on Saturday. Competitive sporting events on Saturday include the Wellness Walk and 5K Run and the Jiimaan Challenge from Harbor Springs across the bay to Petoskey. On Sunday, enjoy Worship by the Bay. Concessions provide a wide array of tasty treats for festival-goers on Friday and Saturday. The midway opens Friday at noon, and Saturday at 10am, remaining open until 9pm each night. During Celebration of the Sunset each night from 7 to 9pm, Attendees also can witness the breath-taking beauty of the sunset over Little Traverse Bay and street performers. New this year will be Keweenaw Excursions cruises on Little Traverse Bay. Petoskey Festival on the Bay is an event for the whole family, with free music, children’s activities and competitive events.
